Things to do in Dubai Mall in the summer

Introduction

Having been here 20 years, you would think I would have got used to the summer heat by now, but no. As I write this in June 2025, we just had our hottest May on record, so who knows how June, July and August will go? Combined with the high humidity, it can definitely make things complicated. Dubai in summer is not easy but it’s still possible to have a lot of fun.

Many people will go away for the summer, but I have seen busier summers over time here, so what do people get up to? Well, we have the malls, we have indoor entertainment and sometimes it can be nice to stroll in the evening by the beach, still with a cool breeze.

When the summer sun blazes over the UAE and temperatures in Dubai climb beyond 40°C (104°F), exploring outdoors can feel more like a sauna session than a sightseeing stroll. But don’t let the heat deter you—Dubai in summer is still an exciting destination!

The city has mastered the art of indoor entertainment, offering air-conditioned adventures that range from snow slopes to shark tunnels.

Here’s your guide to 10 of the best things to do in Dubai in summer—all indoors and family-friendly!
