Introduction to Alserkal Avenue
Alserkal Avenue is a beautiful spot in Dubai and one of my favourite places to hang out. From the outside, the area looks like a series of industrial warehouses and many Dubai residents and visitors have no idea what’s behind the facade. The area is a dynamic district that celebrates art, creativity, and innovation.
There are many art galleries, event spaces, cafes and restaurants in the complex, and even an art cinema as well. It’s a wonderful place to hang out at the weekend and in the evening during the week. I cannot recommend it enough. So I am writing this article to demonstrate what is there, but please go and explore yourself. There is something for everyone.
As we journey through this article, we will unravel the captivating story of Alserkal Avenue, from its historical roots to its contemporary role as an artistic haven.
Location and Transportation
The complex is located in the Al Quoz Industrial area, not far from Sheik Zayed Road and the Times Square Shopping Mall.
There is limited parking at the complex, and almost impossible to park there during busy periods There is plenty of off-street parking in the area with a short walk to the area. However, the best way to get there is by taxi.
The site is very accessible as well for those who need to use a wheelchair. Whilst some buildings have an additional floor, the major parts are based on the ground floor with big wide open entrances as the majority of the buildings are industrial warehouses. Parking is an issue though so bring some friends who can help you navigate if possible.
