Jumeirah Lake Towers is a funny project located opposite Dubai Marina, on the opposite side of Skeikh Zayed Road. It’s a mixed community of residential, commercial and hospitality buildings, with a wide range of facilities for residents and visitors alike.
I used to visit the construction site many times around 2006 onwards when I was working in real estate. We were allowed to go up and down the building sites on the construction elevators which was always fun, and a little bit scary as well.
The project faced a lot of delays with the 2008 economic crisis but came good in the end, even if it didn’t look quite like the original plans suggested. Still, it is an amazingly successful complex, despite the traffic problems (though that is not unusual in Dubai).
There are some very nice buildings to stay in, a great walkway around the lakes with lots of restaurants, shops and other services. It is one of the places that I would recommend to live in Dubai if you like urban life.
