The gates swing open at 6pm today, and for many Dubai families that marks the real start of the cooler season. Global Village opening night brings a choir at the entrance, a parade of world cultures, a confetti shower at the Gate of the World and more than 600 drones over the park. It is also the first evening of Season 31, which runs until May 2027 under the theme “A More Wonderful World”.
So whether you are heading over tonight or saving your first visit for a quieter weekday, this guide covers what you need. You will find the opening-night timings, regular hours, ticket prices, buses and parking, the new pavilions and food, and the rides and shows worth planning around.
Last updated: Wednesday 14 October 2026, Dubai time.
Global Village Opening Night: What Happens This Evening
According to Khaleej Times and Gulf News, the celebrations follow a clear running order. Here is how the evening is expected to unfold:
- 6pm: the gates open and a choir welcomes guests as they walk in.
- Early evening: the Parade of the World sets off, with performers representing cultures from across the globe.
- Gate of the World: look out for the signature confetti shower at the main entrance.
- From 7.20pm: performances begin on stages across the park, Khaleej Times reports.
- 8pm: more than 600 drones are scheduled to light up the sky.
Global Village opening night is usually one of the busiest evenings of the season, so expect queues at the ticket counters and slow traffic near the car parks. In short, arrive early or come by bus, and you will spend more of the evening enjoying the park.
Season 31 Hours After Global Village Opening Night
After tonight, the regular schedule applies for the rest of the season. These are the hours listed on the official Global Village Plan Your Visit page:
- Sunday to Wednesday: 4pm to midnight.
- Thursday to Saturday and public holidays: 4pm to 1am.
- Tuesdays: reserved for families, couples and women, except when a Tuesday falls on a public holiday.
- Season dates: 14 October 2026 to May 2027.
Now in its 30th year, the park first opened in 1996 and welcomed around 500,000 visitors in its early days, according to Khaleej Times. Today it is a fixture of the winter calendar. If you want the wider picture of the month, our Dubai October 2026 guide lists the other big reopenings and dates.
Global Village Ticket Prices for Opening Night and Season 31
The Dubai Media Office and Khaleej Times’ opening-day live updates give the same prices:
- Weekdays (Monday to Thursday): Dh25 per person.
- Weekends (Friday to Sunday) and public holidays: Dh30 per person.
- Where to buy: on the Global Village website and app, and at the gates from 14 October.
- People of Determination: entry is free for the guest and one companion, according to the official site.
Because Global Village opening night falls on a Wednesday, the weekday price applies. For a full breakdown, including the change that moved Sunday into the weekend rate, see our Global Village ticket prices guide.
A warning about VIP pack scams
Khaleej Times reminded readers today that Global Village has warned about fake websites and unauthorised sellers offering VIP Packs. The park says the packs are sold online only through the official Coca-Cola Arena website, and that “no other website, seller or individual is authorised to sell these packs.” Khaleej Times also reports that Mega Gold and Mega Silver packs can be bought at the Dubai Parks and Resorts ticketing counter and, from today, at the Global Village Box Office. Therefore, never pay a stranger on social media for a pack.
Getting There on Global Village Opening Night
Public transport is the calmest option tonight. Gulf News reports that the Roads and Transport Authority has resumed four direct bus routes, each costing Dh10 one way with a nol card:
- Route 102: from Al Rashidiya Bus Station, every 60 minutes.
- Route 103: from Union Bus Station, every 40 minutes.
- Route 104: from Al Ghubaiba Bus Station, every 60 minutes.
- Route 106: from Mall of the Emirates Bus Station, every 60 minutes.
In addition, visitors from Ajman can take an intercity bus from Al Musalla Station for Dh25 one way. Gulf News also lists a Dh30 weekend service from Ras Al Khaimah, although return times should be confirmed before you travel.
Parking at Global Village
If you drive, the official site lists several options. Free zones P1, P3 and P5 sit roughly 400 to 450 metres from the Gate of the World. Paid parking costs Dh120 a day, while a second paid zone near the Happiness Gate costs Dh75. VIP parking costs Dh200 a day and is free for VIP pack holders.
On weekends, public holidays and busy days, overflow zones P7 to P11 open about a kilometre from the Cultural Gate. From there, a free shuttle bus runs to the gate, or you can take a rickshaw from Dh10.

What Is New at Global Village This Season
This season brings 29 pavilions covering more than 90 cultures, over 3,500 shops, more than 250 places to eat and over 200 attractions. As Gulf News puts it, you will not see it all in one visit. These are the main changes, as announced by the Dubai Media Office:
- Sri Lanka: now has its own pavilion; Khaleej Times notes it was part of the Bangladesh pavilion last season.
- Russia and Azerbaijan: the Russia pavilion has expanded to include Azerbaijan.
- Syria and Kuwait: both pavilions return with new façades.
- Passports: a redesigned Season 31 Passport and a new Kids Passport, with stamping stations in every pavilion.
- Gardens of the World: back with a refreshed design for a slower stroll.
- Landmarks: new LED lighting at the Cultural Gate and a newly themed Sharjah tunnel on the way in.
Fernando Eiroa, chief executive of Dubai Holding Entertainment, said in a statement quoted by Gulf News that the park has become “a much-loved tradition for families and friends”. If you are new to the park, our Global Village Dubai overview and our earlier Global Village Season 31 preview explain the layout and history.
Where to Eat on Global Village Opening Night
Food is half the reason many people go, and this season adds several names. Trabzon Turkish Restaurant joins the line-up. Meanwhile, Restaurant Plaza welcomes three new concepts:
- Robo Al Sham: Levantine dishes.
- Hawawshi Al Rabie: popular Egyptian flavours.
- Chicking: its signature fried chicken.
Gulf News points out that Restaurant Plaza sits beside Carnaval and overlooks the Falcon Stage, so you can eat while watching a show. For coffee and something sweet, try the new cafés Vinci Dolci, Emir Bey Gourmet and Uzungol Café. Afterwards, the Dessert District returns with a refreshed façade.

Rides, Shows and Activities for Children
Carnaval is back, and the park counts more than 200 attractions in total. The Festival Wheel has refreshed carts, and familiar favourites return, including The Dragon Kingdom, The Horror Hotel, Secrets of the Lost City and Exo Planet City.
The biggest new ride, however, is not open yet. Tokyo Rush, a roller coaster with sharp turns, high speeds and a loop, is due “later in the season”. No date has been announced, so do not plan tonight’s visit around it.
With around 40,000 shows this season, the entertainment line-up is just as busy:
- Fast Live 2: The Police Strikes Back: a new stunt show.
- Bollywood Idol: a new show about two brothers, told through music and dance.
- Bank Heist: a new acrobatic production inspired by true crime.
- Slam: returning by popular demand.
- Kids Theatre: Care Bears and PJ Masks for younger guests.
For families, the official site also recommends a free child wristband from guest services, so staff can reunite you quickly if you are separated. Looking for another outing this month? Our Dubai Safari Park Season 8 guide covers the city’s other big reopening.
Better Facilities This Season
Several practical upgrades should make arrival and exit smoother, according to the Dubai Media Office:
- A self-payment system for VIP parking, using vending machines before you reach the exit.
- Clearer directional signs across the main parking zones.
- More ticket counters at the Happiness Gate to cut waiting times.
- Additional Family POD washrooms, including accessible facilities for People of Determination.
- New bilingual Arabic and English signs at the Gate of the World.
- A WhatsApp chatbot that answers visitor questions on your phone.
Separately, Gulf News reported that Dubai Police trained 49 Global Village supervisors and security guards to manage traffic flow and handle minor accidents.

Tips for Your Global Village Opening Night or First Visit
- Arrive before 6pm if you want to see the choir and the confetti at the Gate of the World.
- Take an RTA bus, or arrive early to secure one of the free car parks nearest the gates.
- Buy tickets on the website or app to avoid the longest queues at the counters.
- Find a viewing spot before 8pm for the drone show.
- Choose three or four pavilions and one show, rather than trying to see everything.
- Check the forecast first, as Khaleej Times has flagged possible thunder, dusty winds and rain this week.
If crowds are not your thing, a weekday evening later in October is likely to be calmer. For more ideas, see our guide to what is open in Dubai in October 2026, or plan a daytime visit to Dubai Miracle Garden.
Conclusion
Global Village opening night is the loudest, busiest and most cheerful way to start the season, with a parade, confetti and 600 drones in a single evening. Yet the park rewards repeat visits just as well. The basics are simple: tickets cost Dh25 on weekdays and Dh30 from Friday to Sunday, gates open at 4pm from tomorrow, and four RTA buses run from across Dubai. Buy packs only from official sellers, go hungry, and save Tokyo Rush for a later trip.
