Dubai Airports
For most people, their first experience of Dubai is landing at one of the two airports that serve the city. By far the most important is Dubai International Airport (DXB) which is located in the Al Garhoud area of the Dubai. The second airport is the Al Maktoum International Airport (DWC) which is where all the future expansion will be one day. The long term vision is to relocate DXB to DWC so that all the traffic will be travelling through this new location.
DXB is where Emirates airline is currently located, which has its own dedicated terminal, and all the other inter-continental carriers. The majority of passengers fly into Dubai on Emirates because it is tightly integrated with the airport services and with their own terminal, its easier to transfer and pass through the terminal to enter Dubai.
The airport has gone through major expansion and rebuilding since I have been in Dubai and it is a tremendous asset for the country. From disembarking from the aircraft and exiting the terminal the process is smooth and generally hassle free.
